Osteopathic Techniques

Osteopathy is a natural medicine that uses manual therapy to assess and treat restrictions in the normal motion of fluids and tissues in the body.

Founded by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still in 1874, osteopathy is based on removing the causes of symptom which can be far removed from the symptom it self. Through studying the interconnectedness of the human form a practitioner approaches a whole person with a highly trained sense of touch and other tests to identify and treat restrictions and imbalances in the body. By removing these restrictions the body's innate self-healing ability resumes.

Osteopathic techniques involve many different types of soft tissue and joint manipulation including Myofascial therapies, Muscle Energy technique, Strain Counterstrain, and Cranial Osteopathy.

    Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is a form of conservative mainstream healthcare that emphasizes diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders. It is a non-invasive natural approach to restoring health and reducing pain to the body.

Chiropractic education is similar to medical school with basic health sciences (anatomy, physiology, histology, pathology, clinical psychology, clinical diagnosis, etc.) as well as focusing on chiropractic-specific education (biomechanics, physical examination, manual palpation and technique). Since beginning practice Dr. MacNeil has taken courses in acupuncture, life coaching, clinical hypnosis, foot mechanics, extremity adjusting, low back rehabilitation and other subjects.

    Conditions treated:
Most common complaints include low back pain, neck pain/tension, headache, shoulder/arm pain, muscle weakness, tingling, hip/leg pain, knee/foot pain or other physical discomfort. A comprehensive health history and exam will determine whether you are an appropriate candidate for chiropractic care. Your personal needs and preferences will be respected as there are several options available for almost every condition.

You do not need a referral to see a chiropractor and most extended health plans will pay towards chiropractic care.

    • First visit (45 minutes) $80.00
    • Follow up visits (15 minutes) $45.00
